The remodeled layout is nice. Good selection of items and friendly staff.
I love this place! Delivery makes life easy, but if I ever need to shop in-store, it's always clean and organized. The parking lot is well lit and they always have great sales. New liquor store is top notch too!
While this is a lovely store, and many of the staff are helpful, I have found the service in the hot foods portion of the deli to continually be lacking. This week's experience was no different. I counted 5 employees behind the counter (how many were assigned to hot-foods, I don't know). I stood there for 2 minutes and no one came over. Then a couple came up behind me and a moment later an employee came over and asked them how she could help them. They were baffled and said, "um, this person was first." In case you're wondering, this is not an issue of me being too short so that they can't see me over the counter. Nor is it a matter of me being pegged as rude - in fact, because this is an ongoing issue, I strive to be very polite. When I was finally waited on, I asked if there were more jo-jo potatoes coming out (the only thing available was chicken and mashed potatoes). The clerk shrugged and said "I have no idea." Another employee had walked up to assist the other customer and said, "well, if you want some, we can ask someone to make them." Her tone of voice clearly stated this was not the choice to make. This was at about 5:45 pm - not like it was late in the evening and they were wrapping up for the day. This has become such an ongoing issue that it has become a family joke. Sad to say, it has affected our usage of this store, and most certainly the deli. And that's a shame, because we truly enjoy giving patronage to our local businesses. I don't know. Maybe this is as simple as getting a bell for the customer to use upon arrival to the counter.
The remodeled store is clean, generally well stocked and easy to navigate. They offer a wide variety of cheeses, meats from their butcher shop and have a large section for natural and organic food. As of late their produce section has been lacking and several items purchased have spoiled within a day. As a consumer who purchases a substantial amount of fresh produce these instances have prompted me to shop elsewhere.
I had my sons birthday cake made here, I asked for it to be done one day before I needed it. Seriously, it was the best cake I have ever seen or had made for me. It was amazing and my son LOVED it! The compliments were endless. Thank you so much!
